A blog about physics books

This is a blog about all things related to physics books/textbooks. For reasons that aren't entirely clear to me, this has become a real passion of mine. My goal is to provide a resource for people searching for just the right physics book, be it a lay person's introduction to quantum mechanics to an advanced text on quantum field theory. Questions and comments are welcome.

May I ask u something?

What do you think about Greiner's textbooks on theoretical physics. Particularly "Introduction to quantum mechanics", and "Quantum mechanics. Symmetries". It seems to me that it's one of the greatest textbooks in this field. Have you seen something better?

Chingiz - I agree!...(mostly) and to answer your question: I can't think of any other books that are substantially better. Greiner's books are fantastic...the only drawback that I can think of (for English-only people) is that his books are originally in German. My impression is that the English translation of his books leave something to be desired. Having said that-Springer has published at least 5 newer/revised editions from his series since 2007. Hopefully the text has been cleaned up!

I have used the book "University Physics with Modern Physics with Mastering Physics" by Young and Freedman in my A level (High School). I think its simply fantastic. I has detailed explainations. I don't know how could my friends who are at college level find this book unuseful. But it demands strong mathematics, that very few people have. If you have strong maths, then you are ready to use this book. But if you haven't this book might be the toughest for you. I am a college sophomore with a dual major in Physics and Mathematics @ University of California, Santa Barbara. By the way, i came across these excellent physics flash cards. Its also a great initiative by the FunnelBrain team. Amazing!!
